"Home Safe Home"; a sweet home is a safe home for children. Every year thousands of children are injured in the very place that should be their safe haven. Safe Kids Columbus works diligently to educate parents, caregivers, and children about the dangers found in the home in the hopes to reduce the number of injuries from poisons, falls, burns, and puncture wounds.
Safe Kids Columbus works with local licensed daycares to help teach children about poisons. In 2003, the Safe Kids Columbus Poison Instructor, Connie James, was awarded 'Poison Prevention Instructor of the Year' by the Georgia Poison Center.
