Motor Vehicle Safety

How many times each day do you travel with your child in the car, van, or truck? Even though you may be a good driver, each trip you take carries the possibility of a car crash. Car crashes account for the largest number of accidental injuries and deaths in our children.

While there are some crashes that are simply not survivable, a large number of injuries and deaths could be avoided by the consistent and proper use of child restraint devices and safety belts. Sounds simple; just put your child in a car seat, booster seat, or safety belt for each and every trip? Unfortunately, across the country, 85% of all children are not as safe as they could be in a crash. Could your child be one of the 85% who are not buckled up properly?

Remember, safe kids are no accident. Be a great role model for everyone you know; always buckle up and make sure your children are buckled up the right way.
